The Brown Family understood the excitement of building a home from the moment they purchased their land in 2022. The young couple shared a clear vision of homeownership and building roots, so they selected our Juliet floorplan to call home

A seamless building experience

The three-bedroom, two-bathroom home offered the Browns the welcoming, functional space they craved.

“We decided on the Juliet because we both wanted first-floor living,” they explained. “We wanted a home that we could hopefully stay in for the rest of our lives.” “I’m a nurse, so of course, I’m always thinking 60 years in advance,” Maddie smiled.

The Juliet provides plenty of room for customization, but the open layout won the Browns over. 

“Our selection gallery process was pretty easy,” Maddie added. “We have a very similar style.”

The Browns knew this was the start of something special from the moment they broke ground. The building process was exhilarating. They love their land, and seeing the home come to life meant a lot to them.

Throughout the build process, the Browns appreciated how responsive and supportive the Berks Homes team was. “Everybody we worked with was positive and very helpful,” said Grant. “I probably asked around a thousand questions, and not once did they not answer my question or act annoyed,” Maddie recalled. 

Everything moved quickly and without a hitch. Approximately two years after purchasing their land—and less than a year after breaking ground—the Browns moved into their new home.

Life in a Berks home

“My favorite feature about the home during the winter is the fireplace,” Grant said. “And the rest of the year, it’s the kitchen.” Meanwhile, the morning room stands out as Maddie’s favorite space. Yet every inch of the property is impactful in its own way. 

“The first time we walked in, we had already been so excited for so long because we were able to check in on the house during different stages of the build,” Grant shared. 

The Browns loved seeing their home come together. Looking ahead, they plan to create a homestead someday—a place where family can visit and experience a slower pace of life. Grant and Maddie hope to raise chickens, too, in addition to their sweet dogs. 

“I just want it to be a place where everyone has fun and gets to experience maybe things that they don’t on a normal basis,” the Browns shared. “We have apple trees, blueberry bushes, two creeks, and all sorts of wildlife—deer and foxes and everything.” 

The Browns couldn’t have imagined a better gathering place than their new Berks home. On our end, it was an absolute pleasure working with these two homeowners.
