FAMILY FUN ACTIVITIES THIS HOLIDAY SEASON IN AND AROUND READING

Once the calendar turns to November, it appears that the holiday season is in full swing. From singing carols and making cookies to giving gifts and decorating the tree, holiday traditions hold a special place in one’s heart. Beyond those traditions, families can make the season even more enchanting by experiencing some must-see holiday festivities in the Reading area.

Koziar’s Christmas Village

Celebrating its 75th Season, Koziar’s Christmas Village is a must-see during the holiday season. Located outside of Reading, in the rolling hills of the Berks County countryside, Christmas Village has been deemed one of the greatest Christmas displays in the U.S.

The 10-acre property features more than one million lights that welcome visitors to an enchanting holiday experience filled with festive displays, Santa’s Toy Shoppe, an Old-Fashioned Bakery, an indoor train display, and Kissing Bridge offers a dazzling view of the lights reflecting on the lake. A visit here will be something your family will long remember.

Koziar’s Christmas Village opens Saturday, November 5, and runs on select days through January 1, 2023.

A Longwood Christmas

Just an hour south of Reading, Longwood Gardens is amazing almost any time of the year, but during the holiday season, the gardens are transformed. Visitors can marvel at over 500,000 lights glowing in the trees, seasonal plants decked out with ornaments, and colorful fountains dancing to holiday music as they stroll through the grounds. Inside the Conservatory, you will find magnificently decorated trees, thousands of poinsettias, and fragrant flowers transforming it into a holiday wonderland. You can also warm up next to one of several fire pits and enjoy the train display at the Garden Railway.

A Longwood Christmas runs from November 18 through January 8, 2023.
