LET’S TALK ABOUT QUICK MOVE-IN HOMES!

What IS a Quick Move-In home? 

Have you seen the terms “Quick Move-In”, “Spec Home”, or even “Quick Delivery Home”? Did you wonder what are these?  Or what is the difference between each of them? When I first started my journey at Berks Homes, I had the same questions. Believe it or not, they all mean the same thing.  


So, what do they mean and why do we do build these homes? 

Typically, within our new home communities, we have developed lots that are available to choose from, and you then select which home fits your wants and needs from our vast variety of floor plans. These are called “To Be Built”.  But there are those occasions when we build a home on one of our lots, that is built to purchase as a Quick Move-In (a/k/a Quick Delivery or Spec Home). There are several reasons we do this, that include allowing us to have inventory for those situations where a homebuyer doesn’t have the luxury of time on their side, we can maneuver around any current supply chain issues and many times we start our new communities off with spec homes so that potential homeowners are able to see a finished product before they buy.  These homes are made available to purchase at many different stages of the construction process, either partially or fully complete.  The stage of construction helps determine how quickly move-in can take place, but it is vastly quicker than if you’ve chosen the lot and started at ground zero, hence the use of the term “Quick”. Dependent on the phase of construction, you may have the opportunity to choose some of your options. But if not, rest assured, we know our stuff and the options we choose will be stellar!

What are the benefits to purchasing a Quick Move-In Home? 

There are many benefits to buying a Quick Move-In home. Let’s explore! 

One of the biggest benefits is move-in times are shortened from approximately 5-7 months to build from the ground up, to approximately 60-90 days to purchase a Quick Move-In.  That’s quite a difference.  Another great benefit is you can see, live and in person, room sizes, etc. In addition, you are getting a home that has been professionally designed by one of our talented Selection Gallery Consultants, who are educated in features and trends and are tuned in to what people want. This takes added pressure off you!  I am confident that their design choices will be those most customers love. 


How do you decide whether a Quick Move-In is right for you? 

That’s a question only you can answer, but we are here to help guide you along the way. Keep these questions in mind:

•How quickly do you want/need to move?

•Does the Quick Move-In meet your design style?

•Does the Quick Move-In offer the options you desire?

•Does the convenience outweigh the modified customization?
