LET'S TALK ABOUT REFRESHING YOUR HOME FOR SPRING!

It's finally here! The first day of spring has sprung and I'm already excited to throw open my windows to feel and smell the season's warm scents and hear the birds chirping each morning.

But along with those wonderful thoughts and feelings, comes spring cleaning. After our homes have been closed up for months, there's no doubt it's time for a refresh.

Here are my tips on refreshing your home for spring:

Open the windows

Just opening the windows feels like a refresher, right? Invite that fresh air in while you work on the rest of the house.

Organize

It's time to put away the snow shovels, winter clothes and any winter gear that's out. Use this as a time to declutter and rid your home of items you no longer need or use.

Update your décor

But not with any old decor! Spring Decor is what this calls for. Put away that winter wreath and replace it with a spring, flowery one. Replace hand soaps with a light, refreshing scent (I personally prefer a lemony or lavender smell). Switch out your bath towels for a light color that brightens the bathroom. Place light-flowery scented candles where you may have had cinnamon or baked cookie scents.

Lightweight blankets

We've snuggled up beneath our big, heavy down comforters and bulky throw blankets as we binge-watched our favorite tv shows all winter. Let's swap those out for some lightweight blankets - even possibly a floral print.

Rearrange the furniture

This is something I've done for as long as I can remember. I love, love, love to rearrange the furniture in my bedroom and my family room. It's as simple as moving my bed to a different wall. Trust me...you'll feel like you're in a different home.

Clean!

And finally....spring clean! Now that you have everything organized and put away, it's time to get out the plastic gloves, bucket and your favorite (fresh scented, of course!) cleaning agent, some old towels, a mop and your vacuum. This is the time you spend wiping down windows and windowsills, cleaning baseboards, and dusting the ceiling fans and cabinets that are typically out of reach. Remember to clean out the refrigerator, pitch old and expired items, and wipe the shelves down. Mop any floor that is not carpeted and run the vacuum over the carpeted areas, ensuring to use the nozzle to get into the corners of each room.

And voila! your home is refreshed, smelling wonderfully and spring-ready! You can now enjoy the warmer spring weather and a clean and organized hom
